What country do we want? From LebJournals

Is it the country that all the Lebanese people want? Do we want a country In which crime is all around And crime in that country Will never ever have a bound? Do we want a country where all the criminals are out of jail and then every attempt to build that country will always reach a place where it will fail? Do we want a country that its governments are ruled by thieves who in debt will put that country and will not let any attempt to fix that country thrive? Do we want a country that its children will always fight and its children will burn up that country If something went not right? Do we want a country that its citizens will always be afraid because in the south of that country an attack by Israel can be always made? Do we want a country that will always fall in war and people in that country about saving their country they will never care? Do we want a country in which everything will stop and to the front it won’t move And the prime minister of that country Will be glued in his chair and from it he will never move?

Which country do we want? So that to live in it would be our want?

We want a country that will be governed by peace and we will have a better country and advances will take place at a steady pace then our country will have great prosperity that will never have a boundary. We want a country that will not be in permanent wars But instead we want a country that tells the world who we really are. We want a country that we will fight to live in whenever we feel that to our country a huge change will come in.

We want a country that will have a government that will make our country wear the prosperity garment We want a government in our country To stand near its people If another nation attacked our country And the government would protect it people. We want a country in which all the religions unite And Lebanon be the only religion of the country under which all the children of the Lebanese country unite. We want a country in which every citizen will live with his dignity and we will have a nice country in which no working citizen will live in extreme poverty.

We want to live in a country that will have a none-armed political party and the only weapons in our country will be in the hands of the Lebanese army, then we will have a Lebanese army that is capable of defending Lebanon from its enemy and that would save our beautiful country Lebanon from falling again under any occupation. We want a country under which all the children of the Lebanese family will meet again in their mother country and every one who has Lebanese roots will have the Lebanese nationality.

We want to have Bachir Gemayel’s country. We want to have Kamal Jounblat’s and Majid Irslan’s country. We want to have Moussa el-Sader’s country. We want to have Riyad el-soloh’s and Rachid Karami’s country. We want to have Camille Chamoun’s and Dani Chamoun’s country. We want to have Gebran tueini’s and Samir Kasir’s country. We want to have Joubran Khalil Joubran’s country. We want to have Saeid Akl’s country. We want to have Sabah’s and Fairuz’s country. We want to have Zaki Nassif’s and Wadih el-Safi’s country.

We want to have Lebanon that was always the dream, The dream that will never be the extreme, So why don’t we all sit and let us all know What country we all want, And let us all start working from now To achieve the country that we all want.
